Kitchen roles- Chefs (Commis, CDP, Sous, tandoor chefs) and kitchen hands
Cassia is a 2 hat award winning modern Indian restaurant in Auckland CBD by acclaimed chef Sid Sahrawat.
We have decided to extend our trading hours and are looking to hire a second kitchen team. All chefs will be on 4 days work and 3 days off set rosters. Hourly and salaried packages available plus tips. Closed all public holidays and 2 weeks during Xmas.
We are recruiting for the following positions.
- Tandoor Chef (2 vacancies)- 1-2 years managing a tandoor clay oven in an Indian restaurant, cook naans and marinated meats in a tandoor, plan menus with sous chef and head chef, train other chef on how to use the tandoor, follow food safety requirements, minimise wastage and help control food costs, order coal and other ingredients as needed
- Sous Chef- 1 to 2 years experience and a diploma in cookery or similar- Should be able to train other members of the kitchen team, plan menus, manage costs, follow food safety requirements, roster, cook food consistently, supervise the quality of food leaving the kitchen, liaise with head chef and owners, manage feedback and customer complaints.62k to 66k per annum plus tips. Rostered shifts minimum 40 hours
- Chef De Partie - 1 year experience and a diploma in cookery or similar - 5 vacancies.-prepare and order ingredients for own section, cook consistently, follow food hygiene, minimise wastage and maintain food costs, help with menu ideas and execution.
56k to 63k plus tips per annum. Rostered shifts minimum 40 hours
- Commis chefs/ apprentice chefs- minimal work experience or recent graduates can apply, we can support someone with no qualifications get qualified with a diploma in cookery through service IQ.- 3 vacancies.
Support the chefs with prep, cleaning and stocktaking. Help with making prep lists and order lists, help make elements needed for various dishes, maintain food hygiene standards
52k per annum to 56k per annum plus tips or $22 per hour to $25 per hour plus tips. Rostered shifts minimum 40 hours
