Our Philosophy
We are a husband and wife team, Chef Sid Sahrawat and Chand Sahrawat who opened our first restaurant Sidart in Ponsonby in 2009, after winning many accolades we decided to pay homage to our roots by opening modern Indian restaurant Cassia in 2014. In September 2018 we bought iconic restaurant The French Cafe and renamed it Sid at The French Cafe. In 2021 we passed on Sidart to our head chef Lesley Chandra.
In 2022, we opened Kol in Ponsonby where all the food is cooked on open fire or tandoor and where we have a strong emphasis on cocktails.
Cassia is now part of the Skycity family as well and has moved to 90 Federal Street.
Each of our restaurants is unique, but each reflects our passion for hospitality. Our staff are a part of our family.
We pride ourselves in offering warm, personable service. Our wine lists feature some of the best regional vineyards of NZ and offers a selection of recognised and eclectic producers internationally.
Our restaurants are an extension of our home and we look forward to welcoming you to be a part of our family.
